When AC Transit employees, Greggory and Adrienne Garrett-Hopkins and Harvey Porter traveled to Washington, D.C. to witness Barack Obama become the 44th President of the United States, they were welcomed by Metro drivers as fellow transit operators.

The Garrett-Hopkins drove cross country in a RV (recreational vehicle) with license plates commerating the election of President Obama. Harvey Porter met up with a 98-year old man standing at the Washington Mall in the freezing weather to see a dream come true.

These bus drivers and Maintenance Superintendent join the ranks of other outstanding AC Transit employees who have made a significant contribution to their communities. Read about them in AC Transit's In the Community section.
